*Energy conservation week Observance Report*

Energy is something that we all need in our daily life. It is a part of our daily routine to use different energy form for the proper functioning of things around us.

It may be for lighting a bulb to operating a huge power plant or industry. We all

need these different energies. It can be electrical energy, solar energy, thermal

energy, biomas energy or wind energy; what ever it is people tend to waste these

resources. As we all know this energy should be conserved and uses should be

limited for the future generation.

As part of this concept of energy conservation, we the students of NSS Training

college Ottapalam, along with the teachers and coordinators conducted a week

program to provide idea about energy conservation. Energy conservation week

started from 12/12/2022 and lasted till 16/12/2022. In this period of time members

of energy club members along with teacher coordinator Dr. Seema Menon K. P 

conducted a week programs in which students from different option participated

and made the whole week wonderful with their creative thoughts and ideas which

enlightened many minds.

As the program and the week came to an end, but the thought still remains in our

minds. In order to brighten these vision the college officially inaugurated the

energy club. Our honourable principal and guiding light Dr. Ampili Aravind inaugurated the ceremony on 22/12/2022 around 9:30 am. The ceremony

was indeed a blessed and thoughtful moment. Energy club along with the NSS unit

distributed energy conservation awareness notice. Sruthi A K, as part of NSS unit

received the notice.The Chief guest and resource person Mr. K

Premkumar(engineer, KSEB shoranur )addressed the gathering with an important

thought; “ why should we conserve energy”. It was indeed thought provoking and

interactive. Which enlightened many minds and all of us got to know the

importance of energy and why should we conserve it for our future. Because we all

are living in a world of constant change and development, but people still are un

aware of all these facts and proper use of energy. It should be protected for the

future to be full of light and brightness. The ceremony ended with awarding the

winners of the week activities. For essay writing competition first year Gopika won

the first price and the second price was won by Reshma. A from first year BEd

english. For photography competition Anjana and Alona K V won the first and

second respectively. In cartoon making competition Jishitha and Anjana KV won

the first and second. Poster making competion winners were Nikhila (Med)and

Swetha. For Collage making Nikhila T S(Med) and Anila T R won the first and

second respectively. Last but not the least Amritha and Vipina won the first and

second prize for slogan making competition. The program came to an end with a

pledge about conserving energy and the students dispersed at 12 noon after the national

anthem.
